Hi All,
This has happen a few times and one time I had to pull over and shut off the car because it would not go without terrible shuddering. Once I restarted it was fine. But today I was accelerating to pass and the light started to flash and the engine felt like it was stumbling. I believe I am experiencing a misfiring. I tried using 93 octane and some Chevron Techron it seemed to help but not completely. So I assuming this could be spark plugs, wires and or coils? Can I use a multi-meter to check the coils and wires?
I have 203,000 miles

Definitely misfire(s). Read the code(s) with a scan tool to determine which cylinder(s). Suspect plugs and/or coils.

No codes stored:(
Since I never really looked at the ignition system I didn't know that my Taurus doesn't have traditional ignition wires but the coil/spark plug combo.
at $60-$75 per cylinder I would not want to just replace all of them, but since my baby has over 200k miles and plan to keep it for many more years maybe I should do all of them.
