I have a 2005 Taurus. I typically drive to and from work only in this car, during daylight hours. I drove it last night (after dark) for the first time in along time. I noticed the illumination for all three control knobs for the heat/AC were out. It is unlikely that all three went out simultaneously. I checked fuses, all OK. The radio (mounted in the same panel) lights up an dims fine. All other interior lights are fine.

I pulled the panel out and saw the connector for the controls was firmly connected.

I do not have a wiring diagram–where to look next? Is a wiring diagram available online anywhere?

Thanks in advance,

Do you have a standard radio or aftermarket kit installed?

:rolleyes2: Have you checked your dimmer switch? I have found mine turned all the way the wrong way and many of the lights were not on!

It is not the dimmer switch. I have 12v to the Metra panel on the light wire, and ground is good. I suspect the power inverter for the illumination strip. Has anyone a source for that inverter? Metra has no comment and wants to sell a whole kit.
