Attempting to install aftermarket stereo into 2003 Taurus and hit a 'snag'...

I realize this may be a FAQ but cannot seem to find a similar topic on this forum, appologies if this has already been answered.

There is a socket for the FM antenna in the rear of the new unit (Sony) but I'm guessing the original antenna is integrated into the ford wiring? Therefore how do I receive an FM signal with the aftermarket unit? Run a new cable from the antenna to the front?

Little help would be appreciated!

Didn't the install kit come with an extension cable for the antenna lead? Sometime in '98 the antenna plug switched from a Motorola plug to a mini-Motorola plug so an adapter might be needed.
