After lubing and reinstalling a blower motor that seized up due to the infamous water leaks through the cabin filter area, the fan now runs (although noisy, but I can live with that) on all speeds but air is only coming out of the defroster vents. Directing the air flow through all vents worked fine prior to the fan seizing up. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds like a vac. leak. Maybe you knocked a line loose when r&ring the blower. System will default to defrost only when you have one (vac. leak).

Meaning vac. leak within the hvac system. Remember, temp is controlled electrically and mode (def., vent, floor, etc.) is controlled by vac.

Thanks for your reply, Sheila. When I tested the fan after reinstalling, I only turned the key instead of actually starting the engine. Now after starting the engine to move the car, all vent positions now work. Not sure why starting the engine made the difference, but everything works great again.

If it acts up again, check a white junction block switch down by the blower area and be sure it is plugged in. It has several diff. colored vac. lines running into it.

The white vac. plug is actually on the evap. housing to the right of the blend door actuator. If you ever pull the dash, this and the actuator must be unplugged first.

The reason i mention this is wht. vac. plug is just to the left of the bottom of the blower motor. Could get disturbed during repair.
