Depends;

ok i'm referencing this post i pulled up searching around....

http://www.taurusclub.com/forum/82-maintenance-repair/132021-dohc-dpfe-sensor.html

un spridget says that it is located "laying underneath the intake gasket, on the rear of the front bank."

ON THE 2002 DOHC setup, is it located in the same spot? eh?

Thanks guys :)
On my '01 it is as in the pic, easy to change, pull cowl, 3 screws in cowl, and it just plugs in and sits on it's hoses.

On my '03 it is on the cylinder bolted to a metal bracket and on the tran dip sitck area. Has 2 hoses going around to two pipes near the firewall.

So you are inbetween with '02.

If you get a new one, be sure it looks like the one on your car. They are quite different in appearance.

Look and see, easy or a pain depending on where they put it in '02.

i think it's right there! i found it.
Then it will look like the attached pic, hoses just slip on the tubes, the lengths are different so hard to make it go on wrong. One in pic has the connector on it as it was from the pick a part yard, maybe $6. Easy to pull from a removed engine.

Have to pull the hoses from the bottom as they may be slightly stuck.

This one fixed my once and a while code for excess EGR at idle. 0402 I think.
