Hey I have a 01 dohc and on the drivers side of the car I have a coolant leak. I found that the tee was cracked on the hose returning to resevor so i fixed that with some plastic weld. Today i got it up to speed brought it home and there was still alittle fluid. had the girlfriend bring the rpms up to 2500 as soon as the fans came on i started seeing little dots of coolant below thermostat area then bigger drops. as soon as the fans shut off seemed to subside. anyway its spraying enough a first soak almost everything and the damn battery is in the way. any thoughts on where to start. btw from my viewpoint the waterpump looks dry and the black section of the thermostat housing is pretty rusty around the edges

Find a small mechanical mirror and look under the water pump(it is on drivers side 2001 and up Duratec)
I don't know your mileage but factory water pumps may go bad any were between 100000 and 150000m.
Also make sure the tee you fixed is not leaking again.b.t.w. be very careful with that tee it is dealer only part comes together with thermostat housing, thermostat and two small hoses and the cost of that assembly is about $150.00

Plastic weld isnt going to cut it for sealing up a leak in a hot, pressurized to 16 psi system.

A trip to the hardware store for some adapter fittings and I bet it will work great!
