As long as I've had the Taurus, I haven't had any problems out of it aside from a rear door lock that doesn't pop up automatically. But I've got a problem now. The driver's side fan is shot on my 2001. It's running ragged. When I'm driving the temp is fine, when I stop at a light it raises above normal. Does anyone have any instructions on replacing the fan?

The guide I saw on Autozone requires evacuating the AC system and that requires a professional. Is there a way I can do the job myself without evacuating the AC? I've searched on the net and found someone saying I could, but of course he didn't leave any detailed instructions. Thanks in advance.
