I just acquired a Ford Taurus MT5 with a 2.5L HSC and a 5 speed box.

I am wondering if someone who has knowledge on the 2.5L & 2.3L engines could fill me in on the swap ability of the engine block in these vehicles.

Do the 2.3L and 2.5L have the same bell housing? Can I grab any block from a topaz or tempo of the same year? Can I use the Turbo 2.3L block from the super coupes?

Any good websites where I can get some details on upgrades?

Any information would be great :)

From what I remember, the 2.5 HSC is a taller deck block than the 2.3 HSC in Tempo/Topaz. Might want to verify that.

The 2.3 HSC and 2.3 OHC (and 2.3 OHC turbo used in the SVOs and Tbird TURBO coupes) are completely different animals, and share virtually no parts.

If it were my car, I would keep it as is, and preserve the rare MT5 as a part of automotive history.
