I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE. My current problem is that the headlights will not switch off when the light switch is turned off or even when the car is entirely shut off. Also, the dash lights and tail lights do not work.

I've tested all the bulbs and that isn't the issue. I went to the junkyard and tried installing several different light switches, all with the same unchanged result. I've tested the fuses and relays near the battery and in the drivers compartment, they are all in working order.

The blinkers, brights and brake lights remain working. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what others steps to take to find the solution? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

More Info

Just another FYI if anyone reads this, I do not have automatic headlights. The lights are controlled by a off/park light/on switch with a dimmer next to it mounted in the dash directly above the trunk release
