I hope someone can help me here. I'm new here and have a really weird problem with my Sable.
When I bought the car, it had an aftermarket JVC radio in it. When I was driving and turned on the lights,
the radio would switch off for one or two seconds and then ran again.

Now the old radio was trashed and I wanted a new one. So i switched it for a Kenwood headunit I had lying around. I changed everything, the wiring was cut by the previous owner, but the cables were where they should be.
When I tried it, everything worked fine, until i turned on the lights.
Now the radio turns off, no hard power cut or anything and the dash lights don't come on. Also the clock illumination doesn't work when the light is turned on.

I checked the dim switch, the light switch, the fuses and the wiring as far as I could. I don't know what to do anymore.

If you remove the radio, do the dash lights and clock work ok?

You need a voltmeter and wiring diagrams.

Check the appropriate fuses first.
