Hey peeps. I finally took my car to the track after my mods and was quite pleased. The first time I ran my car, a few months back, when it was bone stock+a short ram intake, I ran an 18.3 @ 75.6. ewwwww. This past weekend was muuuch much better than my previous track runs.

My 2 best runs were
1) 16.82 @ 80.9mph
2) 16.84 @ 83.3mph

To go from the 18s to the 16s with some simple mods really made me happy.

I have a 2000 Taurus Vulcan FFV with:
-Fenderwell CAI
-Custom dual muffler exhaust
-Eibach Springs+lowered front w/ removed strut lowering tabs

So my friends, if you want, list your car year and type, engine, mods, and your best quarter mile time, and we all can compare our awesome cars. Peace!

Are these actual drag E/T's or are they g-tech times?

16.8 is pretty good for a vulcan. Way to go.
actual 1/4 mile times. yay me! haha. and theres much more to be done.

No offense but you didn't go from 18.3 to 16.8 with mods. You went to a messed up track or did something weird when you raced to pull a 18.3

Most gen 4 vulcans run low 17s stock which is better then the gen 3 which run higher 17s stock and 16.8-16.9 seems to be the intake/exhaust time because one of the guys that ran his gen 4 at Lapeer in October got that.

That is a good time it won't take many mods to bring that down to the low 16 high 15 range.

97 MVP (Mad Vulcan Powah) -- 17.7 at Lapeer last October, with a leaking head gasket.

No runs since the new engine was installed.

Finished the swap (well, Dad finished it with me b****ing at him) two weeks ago. It's a 135k mile engine, and runs smoother and stronger than the original ever did!

I drove it the same way down the track. I raced it at the fastest track in the country when i ran the 18.3. This time though, i took my spare out, which reduced the time somwhat i know.

bone stock and half the interior removed I ran a [email protected] MPH last march at Lapeer then blew the tranny. no runs w/ the new tranny yet, but I'm shure it'll be a lot slower. I seem to have lost a lot of low-end with the new tranny. Also tonight I installed an 80mm MAFw/ a small K&N cone filter so we'll see what I get w/ that, but you'll have to wait till may.

16.1 @ 86mph with no engine mods, no weight los s(cept for subs) and on heavy 17" wheels/tires. Also, what were the weather conditions for the 18.3 vs. the 16.8? 1.5 sec is a huge difference, and most likely the track times from the first trip were wrong or you let off before the final beams.

Any proof of this, or is this a Gtech time? Thats more than 1 sec faster than what a typical 3.8L runs, so I find it a little hard to believe.

Jeez, I've had 18s bone stock, but that's before my K&N filter and I had a passenger in the car.
