Has anyone tried to mod up a electronic heater control unit to accept a double din unit by chance? i searched and notta!! So I am asking. I plan on making a stereo thread when its not soo effin cold and I finally get some ambition! I have a pioneer avic D3 double din, a Planet audio 5channel amp, some Digital designs component set(fronts), and a pair of alpine type s for the rear fill, as for subwoofers, im debating on a single 8" digital designs 1508 in a t-line formationed box for daily beating! Please let me know if anyone has seen a double din attempted or what have you

You can't remove the integrated control panel in the dash. The climate control system will freak out and blow hot air at full blast out the defrosters until it "sees" the control panel.

Other people have been able to install a single DIN unit under the control panel by hacking the ashtray or just attaching it to the bottom of the dash, but it looks inelegant.

Your best bet for stealth is to install the MACH RCU (the head unit in the trunk) and use a line output converter to send the signal to an aftermarket amp and use that to power your other stuff.

Thanks for the reply, Wow, I guess im totally not putting in the right search words. I was thinkin of doing away and moulding my heater controls somewhere...Ahh thanks for the insight either way!
