So I saw the sticky in the new intro area about what type of engine I have (it's a 2 so I believe it's a flex fuel) but I am trying to find the type of tranny I have in there as well. Any help on knowing where I can find that. Bought used with no documents in the glove box. It's a 2002 Taurus SES.

Check the drivers door end sticker under "TR". An "X" denotes an ax4n tranny. An "L" = ax4s tranny. It may also be stamped/embossed on the bottom of the tranny pan. A third way to determine is to count the number of pan bolts. 19=ax4n. 17=ax4s. And yes, if the 8th character of the vin# is a "2", you have the ffv ohv Vulcan engine.
