How to remove this nut on plenum? See pics

Hello,

I would like to clean my fuel injectors by removing them. But how do I remove this nut (see red oval)? It looks like it's one piece. I tried a wrench to no avail. I don't want to force the issue.

The plastic piece comes off easy, I just slid it up and off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

A deep socket and give it a turn. It may be seized in place and possibly break. Try using some penetrating fluid for a couple day and see if that helps.

Better question is how are you cleaning your injectors after you remove them??

^^^^ +1 with. John.

I hope you are having the injectors professionally cleaned and flow tested. That is the only method worth using.

^^^^^ Using an impact on such a small diameter fastener is a recipe for a sheered off fastener.

To the OP..... Have the injectors professionally cleaned AND flow tested. No DIY method will work as good as a professional cleaning.

Yes, I know my method is inferior, but I get to learn about the location and functionality of car parts which is interesting.
