Whats the deal with the windshield washer hoses

I'm about to replace my 2nd hose in 1 year. When the car is cold the hose is hard and about as flexible at dry spaghetti. When the car is warmed up the hose is so weak and soft like over-cooked spaghetti.

I did a search on this forum and a ton of other people are having problems too. This will be the last time I replace the hose with an OEM part, after that it will be another type of hose and macgyver it in there.

I cut back the OE hard and add soft hose then by heating the soft hose and pushing it on the OE. This one has a clamp but not needed. I get the hose from scrap coffee makers. Couple bucks mx at garage sales. Hose is soft, and stands hot water. Permanent fix. All mine have this as well as my Lin Cont which I sold.

What if I don't have scrap yard near me. What would that plastic bit be called on amazon, etc.

You are overthinking this.... it is just a hose. Any auto parts store or hardware store will have bulk hose that will work. Should cost around $2 or less for a foot or 2 of hose.
