So after a bit of research I purchased a vehicle/transmission speed sensor for my 2003 ses with the ax4n transmission... I've got the air intake manifold out of the way and I've disconnected the electrical harness just below the power steering reservoir but I can't seem to reach the actual sensor where it's seated on the transaxle case... I've tried from the bottom but my arms are too big and from the top driver side... the Haynes manual says something about removing the crankshaft pulley and alternator to reach it... I hope someone can tell me what I'm missing here

Remove your airbox and intake hose to the throttle body. You can access it better from there. There is a heatshield covering the vss. Remove heatshield, should be 2 8mm bolts and sensor is located under the shield. Look on the top of the shaft on the transmission.
