Anyone at all please reply.

If My VIN has the U for Vulcan 3.0 OHV for 2002 Taurus does this mean the MotorCraft replacement IAC valve replacement part is the part # "CX1946"?

One more question, does anyone know the part/bundle # that was mentioned combined Part with wire for this IAC part?

I really Super appreciate yours and everyone's help and patience on this issue...

^ Yes, CX1946 (~$56) is the correct Rockauto Motorcraft iac part# for your '02 Vulcan. There're also 2 iac wiring pigtails/elec. conn. at Rockauto for ~$12-16.

I'm too old or dumb or both but after searching that website for 45 minutes I cannot find pigtails or electrical connections for that exact part or any IAC...

^ Rockauto chain of command: Ford, 2002, Taurus, ohv, type "idle air control valve" into the part name or part type search box in the middle of the page and "idle air control (iac) valve", "iac connector" and "iac gasket" should appear below. Click on the one you want see.

Unhappy UPDATE, please read sad details.

LATEST UPDATE on my 2002 Taurus's error code # P1504
'Idle Air Control'

If this is too wordy I apologize to the readers and the MODS, it was/is not my intention I just didn't want to miss anything and hope you understand.

So I finally installed the brand new MOTORCRAFT CX1946 A.I.C. and after starting the car, clearing the code and turning off the engine and starting the car the code comes BACK! I repeated the Clear Code step 10+ times and it comes back less than 5 seconds after the car is restarted.
I am so disappointed and confused.

Should I drive the car a minimum number of miles in order to reset/set this new AIC? If so about how many miles?

May I indulge one or more of you with a few questions more?

The code reader says P1504 and the CEL lights up which is the same as it was the very first time I posted to this Forum.

However the description has an extra 3 Letters either I didn't 'notice' or they were always their, can someone tell me what they mean? And do I have it guessed right?

"IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE CIR"

But notice CIR at end when reading codes?
Does CIR mean CIRCUIT?
So what does this mean?

MANY Thanks to all who continue to offer help past and future!!

Also as I mentioned before my LONG delay in continuing updates are continuing family and serious health issues and I bet I'm not alone with many of you here when it comes to family and health problems.

Somewhere, between the PCM and IAC a wire is broken in the circuit. There is a process called Ringing-out. It involves a continuity check with an ohmmeter between the terminal for that circuit at PCM and the terminal at the IAC. If the break cannot be found visually, solder a new wire at both ends to jump the old wire. Be sure to use heat shrink to seal the solder joint from corrosion.

So even though disconnecting the electric connection from the IAC while the engine is running immediately kills the engine you still think your suggestion would be valid?

Also I've seen people mention disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes would help reset, is this another rabbit hole as well?

PCM? Where is it on my 2002? What does it look like? Do I have to remove things to get to it? And is this something within my talent or a newbie?

Thank you for your suggestions!!
