[Duratec] Coolant leak at thermostat housing

Performed a coolant flush while replacing the upper radiator hose. Replaced the thermostat while I was doing this. Took the old one out and reused the gasket that was with it since the new one didn't have one. Spring side of the new thermostat is facing the engine with the gasket on the spring side of the thermostat. Bolted everything up and there's a steady leak coming from that mating area.

Gasket on the wrong side perhaps? I made sure that the auto store guys were looking up a DURATEC thermostat

The answer is simple, you need a new gasket.
