Brake light indicator

Hello all,

Over the last several days, my brake light has been coming on during driving, the one that illuminates when the parking brake is engaged with the word brake underneath a (!)(P). I have had this happen on a previous car as well as this one in the past, most recently on this car, maybe about 2 years ago. To fix the issue I would just dump a little more brake fluid into the reservoir. This time however the fluid level looks like it is pretty much at the max line to my eye but the light keeps coming on about 70% of the time I press the gas to accelerate or make a sharp turn, it'll stay on for anywhere from a second to a few minutes and then go out.

Could it be the sensor itself that is bad? Or something else?

Park brake switch may be sticking. Spray it with WD40, operate the park brake a few times, and see if the issue goes away.

Thanks Jeff, I did put some brake fluid in and I haven't seen the light return, I'll do that too though just in case
