2000 DOHC Thermostat Orientation

On my 2000 DOHC Taurus, I am replacing the thermostat since the car is running about 10-15 degrees cooler than it should.

I would like to make sure I orient the thermostat correctly when I install the replacement. (Motorcraft replacement).

Which way should the air bleeder valve be? Like have it turned so that the ears of the thermostat are in line with the exterior ears for the bolt holes? Remember, on 96-2000 DOHC motors, the thermostat is located just under and forward/next to the AC compressor. It's directly above the subframe. 2 bolts run vertically. The thermostat is installed horizontally, so I'm not sure if it needs to be set in a certain position.

Normally the bleeder goes up, lets air through that way, and any steam bubbles. But I never did one on that location.

Talked to a mechanic today. Location on a clock doesn't matter for bleeder since it's installed horizontally. Just install it.
