96 Taurus overheating..

I recently found out one of my head gaskets is leaking on my 96 Taurus and it is occasionally causing my car to overheat. I am curious if I should go out and purchase some good engine coolant or if I should just use the stuff laying around in my garage? I wont be able to get this thing fixed anytime soon.

Can anyone recommend a good brand specifically for cooling? I live in a hot place so I am not to worried about the anti-freeze part.
