Car Jack Opinions

Well, my Sears 2 1/4 ton car jack started leaking so I'm in need of another reliable but cheap car jack. I always have 2 car jacks and stands to work on my cars.

I've been looking at two of them, one a 2 ton AC Delco at OReillys (I still have an old AC Delco one with no problems)

and the other is a Pittsburg 2 ton jack at Harbor Freight.

Price on either is pretty close.

Any thoughts or comments on either one?

I'll be danged if I get another Sears one as this is the second one that has leaked.

Sears quality has gone down the toilet since they outsourced to China. Most if not all sub $150 jacks are made in China, all the same junk. Unless you can find a USA made jack, your best bet is to collect your coupons and get a Harbor Freight aluminum racing jack if you want something light and inexpensive. My HF jack is now 2.5 years old, still lifts the car up same as it did new, it just squeaks a lot more now.

Gerry, Sam's Club or H.F. are 2 good options.

I bought a 2 1/4 ton central hydraulics from HF in 1985. Still going strong.

I agree HF is good source for a reasonable price.

I have:
Low Profile Aluminum Racing Jack - 2 Ton, Rapid Pump®

Best money I've spent in a while. Its SO much lighter than a steel jack.
