Сhildren's car seat? How to choose?

I became a father. Sometimes it is necessary to take the child in trips on the car. But I haven't children's car seat still. How to choose suitable?
I have read about such https://omega-center.org/there-is-no...car-seat-base/ advices. What do you think of such car seat? Or advise other checked options!
In advance many thanks! I want to buy urgently.

Look online at reviews and recalls. Go to thrift store. Spend $25. Put seat in middle of rear seat. Or if backward facing seat for an infant, on right side of back seat where you can get to a choking child quickly. (been there done that)

Make sure that you also pick a seat that is safe for your childs weight. We were given a infant seat, but its only rated for 22 lbs MAX. At 7 months, he outgrew it.

The new child seat we bought is multi-position, forward and rear facing, infant to toddler, up to 77 lbs. We picked it up on the Facebook market for 5 bucks for one, and 15 for the other. and its been a good seat so far. I rather give the money to a mom/dad that will actually use it for themselves than give it to some company.

Also, baby/toddler seats will have a date of expiration. I am not sure what the date is supposed to represent, does the plastic fall apart or something on this date or what?

If you buy used, which I recommend, just make sure all the straps and buckles are present, including the tethering straps to anchor the base/seat to your cars seat.

Then just take it home, strip the seat cushions off and send them thru your cloths washer, see if you can pull the straps off and do the same, and wipe the plastic down with a clorox wipes, and your done.
