Cost for replacement ignition chip key?

We've got two ignition keys with the chip, but have mis-placed one of them. It's been MIA over a week now. I don't like being down to just one key. Does anyone know what a replacement will cost? I'm just wondering how much time to spend turning everything upside down here at the house, vs. just buying another one. I think it's got to be here somewhere.

I'll also add, I've got a chip-less key for unlocking the door in a magnetic key box. I've read the thread about taping the chip key near the ignition and using a cheap blank to start it. I tempted to try that.

The ebay motors tip is very helpful, I'll check that out.

Is the cut/program something the dealer has to do, or a good locksmith? No doubt that's more costly.

Thanks!
Jeff

Anyone that cuts keys: Ace Hardware, locksmith, dealer, etc. May check owners manual for key programming instructions.
