I have a 2014 Limited and I just recently changed my battery and since then I have been getting check engine lights and my SYNC 2 is acting crazy and not letting me control all the functions. has anyone else had this problem.
Did you try a OBD2 scan tool or the Ford version of it, to diagnose the problem? All I know is my 2015 Taurus Limited N/A 3.6 L went through 2 batteries, in 4 years. It seems like these vehicles love to eat batteries.
My SYNC system has returned to normal but I'm having starting issues and a check engine light comes on. I didn't know that you had to keep the computer powered while you changed the battery. I wonder what I could have damaged.
The OEM battery in my '15 developed a leak. The positive terminal, and all those electrical parts were all covered with corrosion before I noticed. Almost cost me a new positive cable assembly costing a fortune. Instead, the Dealership cleaned it all up real well, along with a new Motorcraft battery. This was about 1.5 years back. Since then, no battery problems.
Same here, 2015 Taurus replaced my second positive battery post. First one completely gone, next one almost gone. Seems positive post on my OEM battery has a bad gasket, leaks gases and destroys clamp. Need to chk every time I"m under the hood. Battery post part is $48, easy to change though.
Hmmm..guess I should count myself lucky. My car is still on its original 2013 battery. Doesn't hold the charge as well as it used to when it was brand new but it's enough to sit for 2 weeks and still start the car just fine; and the posts are clean as can be.
