Could someone point out where the MAF sensor is?

I thought I had located it at the close end of the air flow tube near the filter box - BUT - this part does not have the obvious 2-wire (filament) I would like to clean.

I've had transmission problems, sluggish, no power, stays in high gear, no get-up and go- mechanic scanned and replaced the speed sensor which is inside the transmission ($$$$) - and the cure lasted for a couple of days. I've decided to clean the throttle and MAF.

Help sure would be appreciated.

Sorry - no pics
