Good day all I have a question to ask. I know what I’m goingto follow but just wanted to get your thought on the matter. My 2008 Ford Taurusowner’s manual reads that the oil is to be changed every 7500 miles. However, the on-dash oil change indicator comeson at 3500 miles. So, which is correct? BTW, I do normal city and freewaydriving.
I did mine every 6K but my mileage was 80 percent highway. She had 283K on her when I upgraded to a 2017 and she never burnt a quart of oil in that whole time.
The 7500 is a best case guess. The on-dash indicator uses a formula based on conditions (cold starts, redline, idling, age, etc). The later is a much better guide.
