Blower motor resistor? I haven't done it on a Taurus, but changed it out on an Escape using the video below.

My symptoms were a little different than described in the video. AC wouldn't work, because it didn't know air was blowing. Was a very easy job (as long as you have a teeny socket wrench).

I had a similar issue on my 06 500 and had to replace the resistor also. Note, the one from Advanced auto did the same thing so I returned it and bought OEM. That was the fix for my car, it was picky!

EATC does not use a blower resistor. EATC uses an electronic speed controller (PWM output from the controller to control the infinitely variable blower speed). Maybe the PWM controller has an issue?
