ignition switch

Hello, have a 13 Taurus se v6, no crank , no start, if I replaced ignition switch which snaps on back of key cylinder, does it have to be programmed? If anybody else has had a no crank no start issue with gen 6 what was the fix? Update found my answer, I stopped at an automotive garage and they looked it up, and NO it does not need to be programmed, so the Oreilly automotive guy was wrong he was the one who said it has to be done. Today found a ground wire from solenoid to wiring harness chewed in two by a F#cking RAT! case closed.
