What exact model is your camera...I might be in the market for a new camera

Mine is a Canon EOS 20D. It's been out of production for almost 2 years, so they can be had on the cheap used (how I got mine).

It's the lenses, flashes, and whatnot where things can begin to get pricey.

I do have the pictures you took, they made it onto my laptop.

its not the pictures I'm worried about..there was only a handful. lol

I don't think the Rebel is a bad camera for starters, but it have to be at least the Rebel XTi, if not the XSI

My biggest complaint about the Rebel is that the lens mounting ring is plastic, whereas the 10D/20D/30D/40D and the 1D series use a steel ring, which is a million times more durable.
