2003 Taurus Duratec ongoing, undiagnoseable random misfire problem

Hi guys! I've been lurking in the background here trying to read up on everything on the above problem. Hoping somebody here can help me figure it out. So far, the quickest way to cure the problem is just to drive on to a mechanics lot. The car behaves perfectly for them!

Will be making a more detailed post in the (I hope) appropriate forum shortly.
