1. Remove the knee panel underneath the dash. You will need a Torx set. There are 4 screws to remove the knee panel.

2. Look above where the knee panel is and you will notice two screws. One on either side of the steering column. At the top of the gauges there will be three screws to remove.

3. Put the steering wheel in the lowest position towards the floor. Gently, but not "Oh boy I'm gonna break it." It only needs a little tug. I can't stress gently enough though so don't be me and break your driver's vent. Start with the driver's side and pull the dash piece towards you. Again, gently with the middle vents, pull towards you.

4. After you've pulled, you'll have wires holding it in. Remove the headlight connector then your light for the headlight switch, rear defroster, your radio control, and the clock connectors and put the dash piece to the side. For some 1990 to 1995 owners refer to 1990 - 1995 Gauge Cluster Removal to remove the dash panel. I have provided a picture of a SHO cluster with a SLO speedometer. The SHO Clusters have 140 MPH on them.

The ONLY screws you need to remove is the highlighted areas in yellow.

5. After removing the plastic trim and overlay, carefully remove the needle stopper on the tachometer and the speedometer. The stopper is that black piece next to the zeros to stop the needles from going past that mark. Set them aside and don't lose them. Now here's the fun part: You will need double sided tape or Scotch tape (what I used). Slide the needle through the hole gently. It should pop right on. Align it so you can reinstall the needles guards and then align scotch tape and tape it. Then repeat the process for the speedometer and temp gauge. This is kinda tricky so you might think it's hard. WRONG! For your benefit, leave the car off and the temp needle will stay where you put it until the car is turned on. The gas, you will have to hold. Point them straight up and slide on like the rest. Align and Scotch tape it.

6. This I have done for everyone so this will make it easy for some. Since I no longer need to use my cool radio controls due to an aftermarket radio these are useless now and the only thing I need is the wires. I'm not sure on what wires the Gen 1 owners are going to use but the Gen 2 owners have no issues. Best investment is get T-taps. They are the best to cut and splice as needed. Thanks to LOUDSHO92 For the info on using the radio controls as it worked. I have provided a picture for everyone.

Now there is a dimmer switch to go with gauges so I'm not too sure where you're going to put it. I double sided taped it next to the knee panel near the center console. you can put it anywhere you please.

7. Install everything back to the way it was after testing to make sure your gauges work. You have just installed glow gauges in your Taurus or Sable.
