I've had two trannies do the same thing. The last one that went was one of them. You will find there is no pressure in the system for what ever reason.

Let us know what you find.

Mates: I need to modify my complaint. (My son'e '96 Taurus.) If he uses the OD shift selection, when comes to a stop at a trafic light or whatever the trany wants to stay in OD and not comeback toneutral. If he lets it set for a few moments it will release and drop down. Or he can recycle through the shift positions and that clears the trany. The computor set up says it's a "sticky solinode. That would be the "Presure switcg" I guess.. Is there anything we can do without going through the "powertoolman" reutine?

In my case, (no movements on OD, D, 1, R, no pressure and no circulation of ATF) the reason was control regulator valve that was stuck in a valve body. A known problem for early Ax4n http://taurusclub.com/forum/index.php?show...mp;#entry788123
