Sorry to bring up this old thread, but does this belt fit the Duratec 24v version of the car? I'm looking to do an a/c bypass too. Thanks.

Thanks to this thread I was able to bypas the ac pully on my son's 2001 ses vulcan. I used a 82.5 inch belt, It fit perfectly! My boy is out of work and can't afford a new pump right now so this will keep him rolling so he can keep looking for work. Thanks so much for the great info. What the hell did we do before the internet?

Hi all,
Just wanted to say that this board is a valuable resource for me! I bypassed the A/C today with an 81.5 in. belt. It was a perfect length for my daughter's 2004 Taurus. I also pulled the A/C relay from under the hood. Thanks to all, I don't have to worry about her breaking down along the busy roadway.
I will use this forum in the spring when I will replace the A/C clutch assembly.

Sorry for reviving this topic but i felt i had to contribute since this forum helped me greatly...
For my 2004 Ford Taurus SES DOHC I used a 81.7 in. belt.. I got it at Autozone part 817k6 to bypass the A/C

Cyris, the above belt size worked on an 04 tec eng. (24v dohc) to bypass the ac compressor??? Didnt think it was possible on a dohc?

That's what i thought. You don't have a dohc, you have a 12 valve ohv (overhead valve) vulcan engine. A shorter belt to bypass ac compressor won't work on a dohc.
