Alright people O have a 2005 Mercury Sable vulcan with only like 2 mods or aesthetic details such as 35% tint which looks great and custom fog lights that are hooked to my low beams. Now I want to add a muffler but am finding it hard to find the right one. I kind of know what the flowmasters sound like but many people on YouTube cut out the cats/ resonators etc so I can't get a good feel well sound on the true stock sound of it. So I'm stuck Flowmasters magnaflow or Gibson. I've only read about Gibson and all the reviews are on trucks. The closest match o my engine is on a 3.0 Ranger. So what are you all's experience with these mufflers if any?

Depends on the sound you want but the flowmaster 44's sound nice from what I've heard. You can remove the third cat and resonator if you want to, all depends on the sound you want. Personally I like the resonator still on there. Maybe if I had a big V8 I would like it removed.
Remember you have to live with driving on the highway with the noise your car creates. Sent from AutoGuide.com App

Flowmaster 44s are great. but a little pricey. they were second on my list when I did my exhaust. The vulcan doesn't pump out that much noise, so if I were you I'd go with something cheaper. But your budget is your business. For my vulcan taurus I got a Thrush "Turbo" muffler. there is a pleasant little burble at idle, and a more noticeable "roar" with some spirited acceleration. and there is very little drone while cruising (which is what sold me, and the price). I would highly recommend it for the vulcan. Sorry I can't make a vid of the sound, My car stays home while I'm at school. If you're still looking by may, I'd be happy to post a vid once I'm home for the summer. If not, happy hunting!

Flowmaster and Magnaflow are the most common choices for inexpensive, sound increasing mufflers. Myself, I believe in spending money to get the best I can, so I go with Borla. Removing the resonator and third cat will also increase the sound output, but it could effect your e-testing (if you have that where you are). You could also go with a freer flowing, cone filter intake to get a little louder sound.

Thanks for your input!! I wanna keep shopping well listening around. I want a solid roar for my sable under medium accel. I rarely go over 4k rpm and a nice lil growl at idle kind of like the 2005 mustang my bro has one of those! I hate drone bcz I cruise often and from what I've read exhaust get louder over time. No bueno

I probably should leave the cats alone bcz D.C is a pain in the ass!! Our laws suck here tint is illegal so I'm sure removing those (cats) are too!! Ill look up Borla, turbo! But I don't want a remotely rice/tuner sound! The inner tunner in me died when my Honda was stolen.

magnaflow and borla mufflers are made from stainless steel, hence they last a reallly long time.
