Exhaust Mod ideas?

Hello people. I have the regular V6 3.0L Vulcan engine on my '96 Taurus. I was wondering, what kind of exhaust mods have you guys done to make your Taurus, louder? Like, I want to make my Taurus sound more mean, more like a V8. I also want to put on dual exhaust sometime in the future. I know you can add glasspacks or something, but will those make it louder? I don't want something terrible loud, but louder. Right now, all I have is a stock exhaust. And its pretty quiet. Any ideas?

There are several options depending on your budget and sound interest. I went to a 2.5" pipe, removed the cat and resonator and went with a Borla Turbo muffler. Borla is big money though, Magnaflow and Flowmaster are very common for what you want to do. There is a video link in my signature to my car rolling.

True to that, but there are some mean sounding 6ers none less. Now, Borla I too vote for, but I also used to have a Magnaflow, and I fell in love with that thing. Now, I dont know much different companies, but Mustangs have brands I haven't heard of much, like Hearttthrob and Mac, those may be some muffers to check into as well.

Well yeah.......I hate the rice racer fart car sounds. I'm looking for like a deep low grumble when it idles, for example. Or something. Idk I can't describe the sound!

Not quite sure about the Vulcan, but on my Duratec, I replaced the factory dual mufflers with Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers and chrome slash-cut tips. It's not too loud when accelerating, and a slight growl while cruising and a nice, low rumble while idling.

new exhaust!

"If I had money, I'll tell you what I'd do.... I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or 2, crazy about a Mercury. Yeah, I'm crazy about a Mercury. I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road!"
