Hi this is my first post here so bare with me . I have a 95 sable with the 3.0 it has the 19 bolt pan ( don't no if it makes a difference ) . I bought the car cheap and it is my daily driver since I got it the trans has acted up. Here's wat it does, if u take of fast it won't shift out of 1st it will just hit rev limiter until u let off,it will also completely disengage around 40 then u can rev it up and will grab for a second then disengage again. So I did some research and found similer problems saying it is the vss so I changed it and it made no difference I also changed the abs sensors to the same result. So as of now I am driving it with the vss unplugged since it drives better this way I no its not rich but I don't no wat it could b . I figure it is something electrical.any help is much appreciated thank

Have you check the transmission fluid yet? (Needs to be done when the tranny's warmed up, after 20 minutes or so of use)

Ya checked that its all good . It runs so much different with the vss unplugged so I figured it was something electrical .

you and i have the same problem,,,,i changed the trans range sensor, with no luck,,,1995 taurus AX4N

Scan the engine computer for trouble codes & post All code Numbers, as they can provide good trouble shooting clues. Inspect the speed sensors wiring & electrical connector pins/sockets for corrosion, bent pins. or spread loose fitting sockets, or damaged wiring. Was the speed sensor connected to the tranny dipstick/fill tube, or has it been flopping around loose????
Your right to have the speed sensor & TRS on the suspect list. Also consider having the tranny computer scanned for trouble codes & post All Numbers.
