Swapping Jaguar duratec or 500 duratec into gen 4 taurus?

We've got a Gen 4 2004 taurus with duratec/automatic. Now... I understand that these engines are also used in mazdas, other fords, jaguar, etc...

The jaguar duratec made something like 240bhp? compared to the stock 200bhp. The ford 500 also made more if im not mistaken.

Are any of these swappable to a 2004 duratec and if not what kind of work is required or differences are there.

Please indulge in answering this as we are considering getting a new motor and yeah...

Much of the increased HP comes from variable valve timing. You cant add VVT to your current engine (head castings are different in the VVT engines), and the PCM in your Bull cant control the VVT system.

Which means, wiring and ECU must be swapped in, you can make it work but I would like to see a modular 4.6L in a taurus first and yes RWD to boot. Could you imagine? Taurus drift-o! lol.

A lot of work for only 40 hp.
Buy a Fusion with the 3.0 V-6 (240 hp)
or the Fusion sport (263 hp).

Hummm......... dont tempt me with the wagon. I have my Tbird sitting in the driveway

That would be pimp. A 4.6L powered wagon that can power slide like crazy. Kind of reminds me of this volvo wagon with a corvette motor
