A while back the info center stared displaying all the warnings over and over never stopping. I found out it was caused by a failure of the low voltage board. It is also a very expensive fix. Is there anyway to fix this cheaply?

So you need a new smart junction box from what you've determined?

Self Service/U Pull It kind of yards have started getting in 04+ Tauruses here in SC.

I can keep my eyes open if you want...do you want one with or without DRLs? With or without remote keyless entry?

You don't have to...depends what you want.

Has to come from a 2004-7 Taurus/Sable.

There are 4 iterations of the Smart Junction Box:

Without remote keyless, without DRL
Without remote keyless, with DRL
With remote keyless, without DRL
With remote keyless, with DRL

It is honestly a hit/miss what a car will have. You are at least guaranteed to have remote keyless on any (sedan wise) 04-7 Taurus SEL (P56), 04 Taurus SES (P55), or 04-5 Sable LS (M55). The 04 LX Taurus, The 04-5 GS Sable, and the 04-7 Taurus SE could have the fleet delete keyless option removed. Any of those models could have added DRLs (except the 04 SEL and 04-5 LS Prem). You can tell if it has DRLs by seeing if the side of the box (next to brake pedal) says "HIGH DRL".

You have to go up under the dash, remove the 3 gold screws holding the gray connectors to the box, unclip the harnesses plugging into the bottom, remove the remaining 2 screws at the bottom near the harnesses (near your foot). Then pull up on the bottom of the box, tilting it towards the roof, and pull hard to unsnap it from its cage.

You will have to reprogram your keyless entry remotes (turn ignition 8 times), and you will have to make note of the 5 digit code on the box if you have a keypad in the driver door handle.

So in theory, you could do this in a parking lot and drive way. The car chipped key is handled by the PCM, and is unaffected.

Sorry for info overload, but hopefully that helps.

See this picture to see what I mean about it saying if it has DRLs or not:

Great info but what are DRL"s? What about the mileage? Mine went bad at 46k.Will a new box show that mileage or the mileage off the car that it came from?

DRL=daytime running lights.

Mileage for the vehicle stays with the instrument cluster and is controled within the microcomputer within the instrument cluster/message center.
