Whatda y'all think about plastidip?
Honestly I hate the look of any matte colored paints. But...I hate the look of a rusted, messed up painted hood even more. So I plastidipped my hood, and I'm going to do the roof next. ![]() ![]() In the long run, I want to get the whole car painted a green again, but I'm thinking about getting the hood, roof, and trunk in black. But clearcoated gloss. So really it's just temporary. Thoughts? |

If it looks better than rotted/faded clearcoat, go for it!

I don't think it looks bad at all. Performix makes a product called Glossifier for the plastidip. Might want to check it out

I heard of something to that effect, but I wonder if you can still peel it off.
Something about sanding off the rubber plastidip scares me lmao. |

Sure you can! It won't penetrate the rubber (heh heh) so it won't affectr the bond between the original plastidip and paint.

That SHO is beautiful! That plastidip hood actually looks like a really quality flat/satin paint job.
Though I've heard plastidip won't survive a car wash. |

I never use automated car washes, so that's no problem.
