Does anyone here work at Ford or have access to car history report?

Ford Motor Company does not use any particular one.

This is not true.
I went to three Ford dealers when I bought my 07 Taurus, a month ago.
All three of them used AutoCheck.
The three would NOT do a CarFax, every sales person said "we get AutoCheck free, we use them, not CarFax, your mileage may very some."

Anderson Ford, Clinton,Illinois, also uses AutoCheck.

I'm not turning this into a game BTW I am just pointing out that it's not a set standard. It may be a regional thing, or just a dealer choice, as you've discovered with your Illinois Ford dealers.

IE, here is a Detroit Ford dealer. Note that they use Carfax for used/cpo cars:

When I started looking to buy my car the guy (owner of dealership) printed out a CarFax right away, no questions. They should have no problem giving you a CarFax or AutoCheck if there is nothing to hide.

Well, I see tons of commercials about CarFax, unlike the other.

However guys, Carfax and autocheck .ect only show the accidents if they were claimed through insurance, I got one, cant remember the brand name but my car ran clean but under further inspection I found a previous owner wrapped the front end around a pole or tree or something round.

They claim to have a carfax report. Won't send me a copy by e-mail. They said they'll show me it when I come to test drive. The problem..... is that I'm 2 hours way.

Plus.... being that it's a US car, what's the odds the history will show up on the Canadian database?. I mean... if the car was damaged in a flood and was later fixed up. Will this show on the history report?.

I did manage to find out today through some detective work that the car originated from Detroit, Michigan.

I love the look of the new Lincoln MKS & MKS (I'd much rather have the MKS). However, I've been comparing prices and this one I'm looking at is priced just under $20,000. Most of the ones I've seen on the market with similar options are going from around $23,000 and up.

The MKS and Fusion are basically the same car (the Lincoln version is a little more fancy). There's some good deals on the Fusions right now (all 4 cyl).

If you test drive it and it seems fine, you should be okay. Most of the time it isn't worth it to recover it from the flood damage, just take the insurance money and scrap it.

I would do the test drive and if it seems like it's been flooded, stop right there. I would be very meticulous on your inspection and make sure it is PERFECT. Otherwise get a discount or walk away!
