This is kind of a fun read and provided a few laughs with very descriptive, if not accurate, portrayals about the cars listed. It is unfortunate that the 1996 Ford Taurus was #24 though...the #1, however, is not surprising haha.

i would have thought the Jaguar would have been waaaaaayyyyyy higher on that list. I used to sell cars and i sold a 2001 X type with a cassette player...... I lost my respect for them that day

NS, my parents bought one of those pontiac aztek cars, and sold it when pontiac went under, my dad says they could not find a part for it, so it was time to sell it!

if the Gen. 3 Taurus was sooooooo bad, then why do we see so many of them on the road / or a bunch of us own them?

I throw that at anybody who knocks the reliability of American cars. 90's era vehicles like the Taurus and Lumina lost the sales race to import stalwarts like the Camry and Accord, but you now see far more of the American models on the road than you do of the imports.
What's outlasting what? And on top of that, it has to be admitted that import buyers tend to take better care of their vehicles, whereas stuff like the Taurus gets ran into the ground, backed into poles and has oil changes outright ignored across several owners. Speaks all the more to their long term reliability that there are so many of them still driving. Seriously, play Count The G3 Sables/Taurae next time you're out and about in a city environment. |
