'98 SE Rear Caliper Question...

I just noticed that I lost a rear brake pad on the passenger side which I believe to be the outer side pad. I believe the inner pad is still intact and protecting the piston from touching the rotor. Am I right with this assumption? I intend to put on new pads this Saturday.

If you're stopping safely and not hearing any grinding, tear it down and inspect for damage Saturday.

Turns out it was a frozen caliper. I braved the sub freezing temp last night and replaced it. Thanks for the reply.
