Default Cam synchronizer

How long should it take to replace the cam synchronizer on my 2003 Taurus Vulcan.. i finally have time to do it this Sunday plus any tips i should know and yes i did get a motocraft part

Two hours should be enough time. You will have to move the wiring harness out of the way a bit, so take your time with that.

Take lots of pictures/make markings of the cam synco alignment before you pull out the old one. Remember to disconnect the battery first and replace the sensor puck (usually damaged from vane hitting it). Biggest mistake people make is not being precise enough on the alignment and having to go back and fix it later.

well i got it changed started it up and forgot to plug in the mass air flow connector ..while it was running i plugged it in and it stalled.. i re-started it and idles fine 600=650 rpm but now have a engine light on.. took it for a ride and it does not have the power it had before.. while i was installing the new unit i could not get it exact just off a few hairs ..is there any adjustment allowed by turning the base of the unit like setting timing on a old school engine

well i guess i corrected it by turning the unit a few hairs without pulling it out.. got my power back and no check engine light. total time took less than 1 hour..easy job..now need to do the 2005 being it has 118,000 miles on the org one...but don't chirp yet .
