took a trip to illinois to see some family, with my 93 SHO, on the way back, the car just suddenly stopped pulling, and started smoking BADLY, so i pulled it over, and killed engine, the trans had dumped all the fluid out where i stopped from between the oil pan and trans fluid pan (main seal i think) ok so i pull the trans dipstick and the fluid is black as coal and filled with metal shavings(clutches are probably gone). that means done right?
either way i have about 2K saved i can dump into a rebiuld/replace but heres the aggravating part, EVERY trans shop i have called within a reasonable tow distance, as soon as i say SHO they have all told me they can't help me and won't touch it? unless i am missing something, it isn't any diffrent than a trans job on other taurii. i mean engine being diffrent and all but the trans is still and AXOD right?

My 95 GL had no trans fluid leak when it blew. But that wasn't a complete blown trans.
My 88 GL had trans fluid everywhere.....both times (I had it rebuilt once). I'd take it to Amoco transmissions and get there best warranty....thats if I owned a SHO.

It's an AX4S/AXOD-E transmission in that car.
Quit mentioning it's an SHO if that scares 'em.

idk it did what it did, car has 158K miles on it, trans was rebuilt in 03 had reciept for it, it's supposed to be an upgraded trans! will keep that in mind loudsho, but i need to find somebody close to put it in if i bought it, i aint doin it myself thats for darn sure, if i take it apart it'll probably never go back together!
as for right now im out of options gotta drive my 87 gmc to work becuase, i sold the 92 gl, and not a week later my 03 threw a rod, so i drive the sho, guess what trans is dead?? my luck has been crap this month!

If it wasn't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all! Hope you have a "Merrier" Christmas and a "Happier" New Year!

^^^^ Bad luck story from late June 2010..... All this happened within a 2 day period: 05 SEL broke a rear spring. Ordered quick struts on line, took a few days to get them. 88 Turbo Coupe engine cooling fan (1 of 2) took a crap. None available locally. Had to order new one on line, a few days to get the new motor. 02 Grand Prix GT FPR sprung a diaphragm leak (Ran like crap, P0172, fuel trims wacked). Local GM dealer wanted over $100 for a new one. Ordered 1 on line for $40, a few days to get it. 86 Tbird 5.0 sprung a UIM to LIM intake gasket leak. Got gasket locally, but didint get around to fixing it for 2 days. Wifes 04 SES was running great, but she needed it for a 2 day business trip. At least my 67 Honda 450 Super Sport was running great to get me around town. Told the wife I need another "backup" car. Got the "backup" 95 GL Vulcan a few months later. Now I am set..... I hope.
