As far as the SCT, I would suggest contacting them and let them know what you want. I have not dealt with them personally, but I have heard they are pretty helpful.

Ok, I will get on the horn and try to figure it out, probably won't happen for a little bit, as I'm in college and $ is a little tight, but just another thing to add to the wish list LOL

I got mine from Ford Performance Specialists back when SCT was selling the Xcal 2.
The turner just tweaks the ECU factory tables. The biggest improvement was in the AX4N shifting. In 1st-2n and 2nd-3rd it will run all the way up to redline and shift firm enough to yank the wheel. :-D Also, the time it takes for the shifting has decreased compared to OEM tune. This reduces the trans temps by spending less time in the friction zone. So you will feel the trans shift more. If you are getting more then the normal shifting feeling, I would check your engine/trans mounts and sub frame mounts. Does the car pull to one side based on throttle input?

check your subframe bushings before you get the alignment. Also check the lower control arm bushings.
I have 87, 89, 91oct tunes. SCT doesn't have any generic tunes for Gen3/4 Taurus so, a dealer will have to custom make them. FPS was one of the main companies back when I got mine.

Yeah, this is an Xcal too. He got it from FPS. I called FPS up yesterday actually and talked to Doug dealing with it, as well as some other stuff.
The trans shifts harder for all but stock I think. Even my low 87 tune having fun getting on the freeway had good shift. Not harsh, but quick! @crackhead: Doesn't yours come with the 93 tune too? @Breeves: I paid 2800 for it, 325 for shipping, and have put a hundred or 2 in it so far. Excluding gas haha. |

Well I talked to a guy with Street Stangs, he's down in the southern east, but he said it was gonna run about $379 for the tuner and then $200 for the tunes, does this sound about right?

Yeah, that sounds within reason. Do some research into him, if you can, to see if people have good things to say about his tuning ability.
