Engine Coolant Fluid Capacity 1999 Ford Taurus SE Wagon

I was going to give my car an engine coolant flush using Prestone Superflush, Prestone Antifreeze, and Prestone 50/50. Does anyone know the engine coolant fluid (radiator fluid) capacity of the 1999 Ford Taurus SE Wagon?

Not sure, but it will require about 1.5 gals. to refill unless you're removing the 2 block drain plugs (I don't). Edit: I just checked my 99's owner manual. "Total" capacity for a 99 3.0 Vulcan engine is 11.6 quarts. For a 99 3.0 Duratec eng. is 10.6 qts.

For future reference, all the capacities are listed in your owner's manual. It's either 10.6 or 11.6 quarts depending on your engine.

well if your going to just flush all the coolant out of the engine with a hose and not drain the block ( I could never find the drain plug on the block of a dohc) so you will have all water left over inside the engine. first put in full strength coolant (1 and a half gallon's) then the rest all water.
