durasel has a spectacular aura about
Default Engine Hesitation between 30-40 mph

My 03 SEL with the tec (52k miles) has seemed to develop a hesitation/bucking when I'm driving between 30-40 mph and give it about 1/2 throttle.
The car bucks and hesitates, but never stalls.
It happens about 1/2 the time in this situation.
I hoping its not the transmission (changed out the fluid at 30K) as the car seems to shift normally.

I've cleaned the MAF but have not done anything else.

Could it be the fuel filter (never changed) or what do you think??
Thank you in advance!!

Check for any pending codes. Could be a clogged converter (often the downstream converter clogs first).

Start simple. Try changing the fuel filter. I change mine every 15,000 miles. I believe the basic recommendation is every 30,000.

No codes.
Is any fuel filter OK or should I get a motorcraft one?

I had a buck and a jerking in my 03 taurus and a new syncro with a new cam sensor fixed my problems! I had no codes either!

^ Hes got a tec. I would use any parts store brand. Dont think the mc would matter here or be worth the diff. in price. An ignition misfire light may rear its ugly head later.
