BKS has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default 2002 taurus fan promblems

I have 2002 ford taurus that only the ac fan will come on.are both fans suppose to run.i know the ac fan will run when you turn ac on.but with ac off only ac fan will come on once it gets hot enough.the other one will not come on any ideas.

Both fans are suppose to run at the same time. You more then likely have a bad fan motor. One way to check is run a fuse 12V line to the motor with a ground. If the fan runs then you have an issue elsewhere. If the motor does nothing then the fan motor is faulty. Make sure you use a 10 gauge wire for testing.

Or you can temporarily disconnect the gray ect (engine coolant temperature) sensor to see if both fans come on. They should.
