This forum has been a Godsend. It's saved me the hassle of a non-functioning gas guage on my 2000 FFV with one simple part replacement (which should have been the subject of a recall due to its common failure...)
But I need to know how to open the dome light assembly to replace the bulb without breaking it.
Wow. Now my driver's window quit working. I noticed the switch stuck in the "up" position, and now it won't roll down. Just makes a clicking sound. The other windows work fine.
I am reading this thread with great interest as I too want to replace the dome lights with LEDs, but do not want to apply so much pressure as to break the cover.
I have gently applied pressure all around the dome lens, but so far it refuses to pop off.
On the back side is a little slot and you stick a flat blade screw driver in there and twist. that slot is an opening between the gray plastic housing for the fixture and the clear cover that pops off. As for the last guys comment, I thought this site was to help others. I'd ask for help before breaking it too, and it is PRETTY tight.
